Site Facelift (or maybe rhinoplasty?)

August 30, 2008

Joyous News! I’ve responded to the many complaints about my site, and rectified… a few of them…
Anyway, I think its a bit slicker. Please let me know if you have any further nitpicky/abusive remarks to burden me with, and I’ll look into them once I finish crying in the shower… I’ve also added a few pieces I’ve had lying about wanting for some attention (Like the piece above which I did for my friend Nick’s film.).
Enjoy!

New Illustration!!!

August 22, 2008

Here is a rather large (for me) oil painting I did on canvas. The leggy carnivorous one is Sekhmet, war goddess and protectress of the Pharaoh. My point here, I think, is that grief, empathy, guilt and conscience are the sole provence of humanity. I doubt there is such a thing as person who can be indifferent to all suffering… but Sekhmet, at least, is.
More and varied things to come…

P.S. Apparently the Egyptians put on a really incredible pisser each year to celebrate the goddess’s act of mercy (passing out drunk before she could finish slaughtering them all). Where do I sign up?

New Illustration!!!

Here is a piece I worked on, on and off while working on other jobs and projects. Its a snapshot of dream I had in which I visited the Seawater mines on Russia’s frozen beaches and took the Trans-India Monorail to Bombay… Here we see a long forgotten prisoner lecturing a troop of monkeys on matters of Philosophy I think.

P.S. Sorry about the website short-outs (in fact as I write this, you may not even be able to reach this blog from my site) I plan on bringing in some big guns to help me polish it up… Thanks for being patient!

The War in Heaven

April 7, 2008

Wow, I’ve really been out of it huh?
No matter, right to it:
I’ve (not so) recently completed a comic book with Will Kenton called The War in Heaven. Its a pre-biblical epic concerning the fall of Lucifer (Samael), after Milton’s Paradise Lost. It was a thrill to work on, and I hope you all pick up a copy.

Here is the link to The War in Heaven website. (Buy it here.)
Here is Will’s blog (note the banner created by yours truly),
And here are some sample pages:

Cheers!

Little Horse Music

June 30, 2007

I recently completed some artwork for the new Little Horse album. If you haven’t heard of them yet, get yourself (and your browser) over to their myspace page, and have a listen. Not only does it feature the new album art, but also their extremely solid musicianship. Its rare that I really get excited over a commisioned piece, but on this one I certainly did. The brothers Horsley (Jo and E.) have an excellent sensability that I really admire: a bit flamboyant, yet elegant and nostalgic. Much of the same qualities I strive for in my own work. So go check it out, and come back later for the full scan, which I will post when it becomes available.

Peace!

New Illustration!!!

December 12, 2006

Its been a slow month so far, so I thought I’d put up a new personal piece. You can view it above or on my website here.. I’m currently working on some major changes to the site, which with luck will be up by January. So enjoy for now, and please come back soon and check out the new website!
Hail Lord Claus!
Cheers!

New Illustration!!!

November 20, 2006

I’ve added a new illustration to my main page… you can check it out here.
It will adorn the front of my new mailer which I should have in my hands next week. The reverse image is exclusively posted above…oh boy! I hope everyone has a drunken and fattening holiday. I’ve already had my first Thanksgiving dinner, and eagerly look forward to the second.
Cheers!

New Comic!!!

November 6, 2006

I updated the Comics section! Check out my new story here. Sylvester II became pope in 999, and possessed such influence and wisdom that many thought him to be a wizard. I decided to take a bit of license with these tales and I hope you like the result. If things go my way, I’ll be producing a few more stories involving other alchemists of note. Incidentally, I recently began reading James Elkins’ “What Painting Is.” He proposes that the painter and the alchemist share quite a few similarities and his descriptions are strikingly poetic. I know things have been a bit dull in this neck of the Internet recently, but look out for some big changes coming around New Years… Until then… well try to keep breathing.
